RSS Feeds, Newsletters of the Future! 4

Apr28

Seriously, why does anyone offer a newsletter on their website anymore? Or even worse, why is your whole website created around the newsletter!? Shouldn’t you be trying to sell a product or a service, or be providing some sort of value?

When I see people offer subscriptions to both RSS Feeds and a separate newsletter, I want to cry!

RSS Feeds are the new Newsletter!

People opt in, get their updates via e-mail when you choose. RSS Feed = Newsletter.

It’s much easier to manage, and you can still provide all the juicy information, incentives, and whatever whatnot you choose to provide to your subscribers.

  1. I love keeping a newsletter. I am able to target people who want my jewelry and offer them special rewards and discounts that I don’t necessarily want made open and public to everyone.

Plus, I’m still not so sure how this RSS thing works. :) I admit it. I’m kind of a techy dummy.

Much easier to keep up with RSS cos you don’t in fact do anything, it does it for you.

But some people like writing their newsletters, i guess just let them do it! All the same to me.

  3. Maybe some people enjoy creating those Newsletters too. And if no one would read them, would that mean a person worked for nothing?

Yea, I can see why a newsletter is benifical in somecases. So, a vaction newsletter, or a newsletter to a team who is on the good and does not have laptops. Also, newsletters allow readers to read using a moble web device. But this cases are very few, RSS will cover most people’s needs. Nice post, keep up the work.
