Many people complain that when they ask for links, or try to share their link on various communities, that they experience little to no success, or even get banned from the venue they are trying to reach.

Well, you have to make sure to follow the rules!

When you’re posting your links on forums, make sure it is allowed by the community to append your link to your signature. Don’t post your link in new threads and replies all throughout the message board, instead, look for an advertising or promotion specific forum where the administrators want these sort of threads to be placed. (e.g. a “post your link” forum, or a “review my site” forum.)

When posting comments to blog, don’t clutter your post with links to your blog, instead focus your energies on contributing something back to the blog (provide information, ask a question, etc.) and leave your link in the URL field. I can pretty much guarantee your comment will be approved and you will gain a relevant backlink.

I hope this has helped you out, following these guidelines has ensured that 99.9% of my comments get approved, and I’ve never been banned from a message board for promoting my website within a reasonable means.

Alot of people have bad experiences with Google’s AdWords program because they forget two very simple and effective options to tailor their Google AdWords campaign.

First, make sure you set your daily spending limit! Don’t jinx your traffic by paying for clicks you can’t afford, or even getting clicks that are not as valuable to you, because they are less targeted.

Which brings me to my second point, when setting up your campaign, uncheck the box that says “include in Google’s extended network” … displaying advertisements in the extended Google site network will place your ads on (relevant) websites that are running the AdSense program. You want your advertisments to display on the results index page relevant to your keywords, because that is as targeted as you are going to get.

So, don’t forget to save yourself time, money, and trouble by employing these AdWords techniques!

Lee Doyle has started a new interesting blog movement akin to the “U Comment – I Follow” moment that revolves around the whole Entrecard card dropping feature. Members of this group make it first priority to drop cards on those who have dropped cards on themselves already.

You may have seen that nifty little widget I added to the right sidebar of my blog last week, and in case you’re wondering what it is …

Well, Entrecard is a new virtual way to represent yourself online. The Entrecard system allows webmasters to place a widget on their website, which allows other Entrecard members to “drop” their card in your inbox, for you to check out from your Entrecard dashboard on their website. Likewise, you can go around to other Entrecard members’ websites, and drop your card in their inbox.

However, aside from providing a great way to establish an “identity” online, Entrecard allows a unique way to advertise, you can display cards from other users on your Entrecard widget. You build up credits by dropping your card, having cards dropped in your own inbox, and showing advertisements from other users.
